Boys Beat Muscatine in Basketball
Davenport Assumption rallied after a slow start to beat Muscatine 78-48 on Tuesday.“We’ve been inconsistent and haven’t been able to get off to a good start,” said Assumption’s Sean Finn, who finished with a team-high 20 points.
Assumption coach Pat Finn added that his team had gotten tired of playing from behind, and it finally wore on them.
The Muskies (1-12, 1-8) led 17-11 after the first quarter, but the Knights (7-7, 5-4) outscored Muscatine 23-13 in the second quarter, and then 19-9 in the third to seize control to win their third straight.
Assumption’s Joe Daniel recorded a double-double with 13 points and 13 rebounds.
J.T. VonderHaar added seven points and Blake Schneden scored eight off the bench for the Knights.
