QCT:

The North Scott girls basketball team, riding the crest of six straight wins, played a game of ‘pick-your-poison’ with Mississippi Athletic Conference leader Davenport Assumption in a makeup contest Tuesday night.

The Lancers hung with the state-ranked Knights before a flurry of free throws in the final minute allowed the host team to post a hard-fought 61-51 triumph at the Assumption gym.

Now 9-0 in the league and 11-2 overall, Assumption has a two-game lead over Bettendorf with seven conference games remaining. North Scott (9-5, 6-3) had been the only other MAC team with no more than two losses.
