The Geneseo Maple Leafs defeated the Knights in boys basketball last night 50 - 41 in the Iowa-Illinois Shootout. Assumption went on a 12 - 2 run in the 3rd quarter, but it was not enough to overcome the Maple Leafs’ 25 - 12 first half advantage.

Aaron Ganson scored 17 for Geneseo, while Chase Van Opdorp added 10 off the bench.

Assumption was lead by Sean Finn with 12 points, while Joe Daniel added 9. Assumption was 3 - 21 from behind the 3-point arc.

Geneseo improves to 5 -3 while the Knights fall to 2 - 3.
